Question of the Month: What's new for Clean Cities mobile tools and resources?

Two new mobile tools have recently become available:

Station Locator app for Android: Android users can now access the Station Locator app through the Google Play store. As with the original iPhone app version, users can access the Station Locator from their mobile device and find the 20 closest stations within a 30-mile radius. Results display either on a map or in a list with station addresses, phone numbers, and hours of operation. Also available for iPhone from the iTunes store.

  • Trip Calculator mobile page: FuelEconomy.gov recently launched a mobile web page version of their popular Trip Calculator tool. This page allows users to easily calculate fuel economy for a trip while on the go.

Plug-In Vehicles Sales Increased 40% in 2016

Following the introduction of the Nissan LEAF and Chevrolet Volt, the first full year of sales for mass-market plug-in vehicles was 2011; nearly 18 thousand plug-in vehicles were sold that year in the United States. Sales of plug-in electric vehicles have grown nearly each year since, increasing nine-fold to a record high of about 160 thousand units in 2016. All-electric vehicles (EV) have outsold plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) each of the past three years.

Ford in Pursuit of Electric Vehicles!

Ford released details Monday of its $4.5 billion drive to field no fewer than 13 new electric and/or hybrid electric vehicles globally in the next five years. The eye-catcher was a hybrid-electric police car, said to be the first hybrid ever to be pursuit-rated. Ford is planning a hybrid-electric F-150 pickup with export power too.

Model Year 2017 Alternative Fuel Vehicles List now on-line!

Clean Cities normally produces an annual Vehicle Buyer’s Guide featuring light-duty alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles that are available for the current model year. The printed guide for 2017 is delayed but the info is updated and available on line.

We want to make sure that you have access to this important information.  
 
The on-line version allows the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) to keep the list current as new models are added or changed throughout the year (note the most recent posting date in the header of the list).  You can access the current version directly at:
